The New Covenant has replace the Old in all areas. Let us see how the old sacrifice of thanksgiving has be upgraded.

The Old Sacrifice of Thanksgiving

Psa. 50:23    “He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me;
            And to him who orders his way aright
         I shall show the salvation of God.”

1Pe 2:5 you also, as living stones,  are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1Pet. 2:9   But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;  10 for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.
1Pet. 2:10 for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.

Eph 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy  temple in the Lord,  22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

Phil. 4:6  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by  prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Phil. 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1Th. 5:15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.
1Th. 5:16 Rejoice always;
1Th. 5:17 pray without ceasing;
1Th. 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1Th. 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit;

Col. 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Matt. 11:25   At that  time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants.

John 11:41 So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

Col. 4:2   Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

1 Cor 9:11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.  12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the  saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.  13 Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your  contribution to them and to all,  14 while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.  15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

15 Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that  give thanks to His name.  16 And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
