What is the Fruit of the Spirit?

We have been looking at the fruit of the Spirit. Let us examine more closely how to make the fruit come to fruition.

Good Soil

Luke 8:8 “Other seed fell into the good soil, and grew up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great.” As He said these things, He would call out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Gen. 26:12 ¶ Now Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. And the LORD blessed him,

Prov. 1:20 ¶             Wisdom shouts in the street,
            She lifts her voice in the square;
Prov. 1:21     At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
            At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
Prov. 1:22     “How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded?
            And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing
            And fools hate knowledge?
Prov. 1:23     “Turn to my reproof,
            Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you;
            I will make my words known to you.

Prov. 18:15 The mind of the prudent acquires knowledge,
            And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

understand, consider, perceive, prudent, regard.

wise, well judged, sensible, politic, judicious, sagacious, sage, shrewd, advisable, well-advised

Prov. 20:12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye,
            The LORD has made both of them.

Jer. 13:15 ¶ Listen and give heed, do not be haughty,
            For the LORD has spoken.

Prov. 16:5     Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD;
            Assuredly, he will not be unpunished.

Corresponds to the figurative expression good ground, and denotes a soul inclined to goodness, and accordingly eager to learn saving truth and ready to bear the fruits

James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

1Pet. 3:10 For,
            “THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS,
            MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.

Luke 6:45 “The good man out of the good treasure [like fertilizer of His Word] of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.

Of lips and deeds, the speaking and doing the fruit fruitfully. Like tasting the fruit, ripe, overripe, unripe.

Prov. 13:2   From the fruit of a man’s mouth he enjoys good,
            But the desire of the treacherous is violence.

Prov. 10:11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,
            But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

Prov. 12:14 A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words,
            And the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him.

Prov. 18:20 With the fruit of a man’s mouth his stomach will be satisfied;
            He will be satisfied with the product of his lips.

Psa. 37:30    The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom,
            And his tongue speaks justice.
Psa. 37:31    The law of his God is in his heart;
            His steps do not slip.

Conclusion

Eph. 4:23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
Eph. 4:24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Eph. 4:25 ¶ Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.
Eph. 4:26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
Eph. 4:27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.
Eph. 4:28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.
Eph. 4:29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
Eph. 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Eph. 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
Eph. 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
