Using Your Faith

Faith seems so simple; believe that Jesus is the Messiah. James has this codicil: show your faith by your works. In other words prove your faith and proving faith is not that simple. Let us see.

You want to do something like works. What to you have to do: practice, practice, practice.

Do what God says to do instead of what we want to do.

Testing the faith in real time situations being like a relief pitcher.

Situations in life where God intervenes when we ask for or need something according to His will.

Heb. 11:1 ¶ Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Heb. 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

How many years? 50 to 75 years or more. That’s a long time.

Heb. 11:24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
Heb. 11:25 choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
Heb. 11:26 considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward. Emotion, logic, intuitive and goal oriented.

God Is Faithful

Practice seeing God’s love in the creation.

Take note of God’s interventions.

Heb. 11:8 ¶ By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.

Luke 12:42   The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?  43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.
44 I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

Matt. 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matt. 28:20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Eph. 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
Eph. 1:18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

Practice this:

How many years did Jesus practice, until he was thirty, at least 25 years?

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
Mark 16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

People have to learn how to use their authority, like practice running things to be a king, get the training to be a judge, a police officer, a teacher and a CEO. If not they will not succeed. How do you learn who to heal and what words to say? Will the person act like they are healed and go to work and the like? Will this help: say arise, help them up, they need faith as well. How do you know whether picking up snakes is not a thing of pride?

Faith takes practice and acting faithfully in situations, which are very hard to do, as it was for Jesus.
