Son of Man

Son of Man

Gen. 1:26 ¶ Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

In the Image of God

Psa. 8:4 (NAS95S) What is man that You  take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?
Psa. 80:17 (NAS95S) Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand,
Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.

Psa. 144:3 (NAS95S) O LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You think of him?

The Son of Man can choose to behave immorally or like His Father

Gen. 1:27 (NAS95S) God created manin His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Gen. 1:26 (NAS95S) ¶ Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the  sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Gen. 5:1 (NAS95S) ¶ This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.
Gen. 5:2 (NAS95S) He created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them  Man in the day when they were created.

Is. 45:12 (NAS95S) “It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it.
I stretched out the heavens with My hands
And I  ordained all their host.

Eph. 4:23 (NAS95S) and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Eph. 4:24 (NAS95S) and put on the new  self, which  in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Gen. 9:6 (NAS95S) “ Whoever sheds man’s blood,
By man his blood shall be shed,
For  in the image of God
            He made man.

Psa. 8:5 (NAS95S) Yet You have made him a little lower than  God,
And You crown him with glory and majesty!

I will be satisfied  with Your  likeness when I awake.

1Th. 5:23 (NAS95S) ¶ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Eccl. 7:29 (NAS95S) “Behold, I have found only this, that  God made men upright, but they have sought out many devices.”

Son of Man Rules

Gen. 1:28 (NAS95S) God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the  sky and over every living thing that  moves on the earth.”

Son of Man Authority to Forgive Sins

Prov. 19:11 (NAS95S) A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger,
And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.

2Chr. 7:14 (NAS95S) and My people  who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

God forgave the people because he sought His Face, forgiven through the son of man.

Matt. 9:6 (NAS95S) “But so that you may know that  the son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins”

The son of man, as we know, began in the creation, made in God’s image. Since God created man like Him, he also has the ability forgive to sins when he acts like God.

Son of Man
Lord of the Sabbath

Gen. 2:3 (NAS95S) Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created  and made.

Gen. 1:27 (NAS95S) God created man  in His own image, in the image of God He created him;  male and female He created them.
Gen. 9:6 (NAS95S) “ Whoever sheds man’s blood,
By man his blood shall be shed,
For  in the image of God
            He made man.

Matt. 12:8 (NAS95S) “For  the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.

Mark 2:23   And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while bpicking the heads of grain.
24 The Pharisees were saying to Him, “Look, awhy are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
25 And He *said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry;
26 how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the 1consecrated bread, which bis not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests, and he also gave it to those who were with him?”
27 Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man 2for the Sabbath.
28 “So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

Deut. 23:25   “When you enter your neighbor’s standing grain, then you may pluck the heads with your hand, but you shall not wield a sickle in your neighbor’s standing grain.

Matt. 9:6 (NAS95S) “But so that you may know that  the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” — then He  said to the  paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.”

Matt. 16:13 (NAS95S) ¶ Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

Matt. 3:16 (NAS95S) After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and  he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and  lighting on Him,
Matt. 3:17 (NAS95S) and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is  My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

John 5:19 (NAS95S)

Gen. 22:17 (NAS95S) indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your  seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your  seed shall possess the gate of  their enemies.

Gen. 22:17 (NAS95S) indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your  seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your  seed shall possess the gate of  their enemies.

Ark of the Covenant

Deut. 31:24 (NAS95S) ¶ It came about, when Moses finished writing the words of this law in a book until they were complete,
Deut. 31:25 (NAS95S) that Moses commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,
Deut. 31:26 (NAS95S) “Take this book of the law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may  remain there as a witness against you.

2Sam. 7:18 ¶ Then David the king went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, “Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that You have brought me this far?

2 Tim 3:15 and thatfrom childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16All Scripture is  inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for  training in righteousness;
17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Who Are the Teachers? Those who speak God’s Words through the Savior

James 3:1 ¶ Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
James 3:3 ¶ When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.
James 3:4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.
James 3:5 Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
James 3:6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
James 3:7 ¶ All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man,
James 3:8 but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
James 3:9 ¶ With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness.
James 3:10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.
James 3:11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?
James 3:12 My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

The Lord Uses the Godly Sons of Man

Psa. 4:3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him.
Psa. 4:6 Many are asking, “Who can show us any good?” Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.
Psa. 4:7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.
Psa. 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

1Tim. 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Rom. 5:15 ¶ But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.

The Son of Man Remembers and Acts

YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR,

Heb. 2:8           YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET.
