Receive Authority

Psa. 8:4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
Psa. 8:5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
Psa. 8:6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:
Psa. 8:7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
Psa. 8:8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
Psa. 8:9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Gen. 6:9  This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.

Earth, filled with evil in human beings but one, Noah and the plants, animals and family, saved from physical death by the good conscience of Noah who walked with God.

God gave Noah the Noahide laws (no idolatry, adultery etc., murder, cursing God’s name, theft and others), (he already had the Sabbath from the creation account) which is receiving the mind and character of God; the result was God gave him the authority to rule and pass on his authority to all his descendants. Each ruler today comes from Noah and must keep the Noahide laws or will lose his authority.

1Cor. 10:2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

The Red Sea opened for Israel and closed on the evil that was Egypt like Noah’s time. Israel was cleansed by walking through the path free of water, but not entirely cleansed; Later, God gave them His mind and character in the Spirit empowered Commandments.

So far “baptism” was not immersion. The water cleansed the evil people from the Earth or part of it, but no one arose out of submersion.

And Jesus.

Matt. 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Jesus has been given all authority. How did he get it and use it?

In Jesus name: onoma: “name” (literally or figuratively) (authority, character)

Jesus’ Qualifications to Rule

Baptized, completely submerged as if washed from sins (he had none) and resurrected if from the death of human nature by receiving God’s Spirit, i.e., God’s Mind and Nature in him.

Like Noah and Moses, God gave Jesus His Mind and Nature; Words, the New Covenant, built on the Old Covenant. When Jesus died, the old died with him; the old body, the old rote ways, the old sins, of others. When God resurrected him, he received a new body, new authority and immortality.

Jesus told his disciples about his receiving all authority soon after his resurrection.¬† He first had to die; so how does his dying for mankind’s sins give Jesus the qualifications for receiving all authority from God?

The first step is being baptized, which is a washing and or cleansing and burial (death) from the result of sinning.
