Our Father in Heaven

During a Master’s course at the Bible School, the professor said that he was going upstairs to teach a course in German. As he would be ascending the stairs, his English would steadily change to German until his thinking would only be in German. That is how the mind works. When we pray, our minds climb up and up until we are thinking in God’s Language. The amount of time varies.

In that highest level, we say, “Our Father…”

Matt. 6:5 (NAS95S) ¶ “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners  so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

Psa. 5:2 (NAS95S) Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God,
            For to You I pray.

Psa. 139:2 (NAS95S) You know  when I sit down and  when I rise up;
            You understand my thought from afar.

Psa. 145:18 (NAS95S) The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,
            To all who call upon Him in truth.

Prov. 15:8 (NAS95S) The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
            But the prayer of the upright is His delight.

Is. 55:6 (NAS95S) ¶ Seek the LORD while He may be found;
            Call upon Him while He is near.
Is. 55:7 (NAS95S) Let the wicked forsake his way
            And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
            And let him return to the LORD,
            And He will have compassion on him,
            And to our God,
            For He will abundantly pardon.

Matt. 6:6 (NAS95S) “But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Is. 38:2 (NAS95S) Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,

Matt. 6:7 (NAS95S) ¶ “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words.

Eccl. 5:2 (NAS95S)  Do not be hasty  in word or  impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few.
Eccl. 5:3 (NAS95S) For the dream comes through much  effort and the voice of a fool through many words.

Is. 1:15 (NAS95S) “So when you spread out your hands in prayer,
            I will hide My eyes from you;
            Yes, even though you multiply prayers,
            I will not listen.
            Your hands are  covered with blood.

Matt. 6:8 (NAS95S) “So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

Psa. 139:2 (NAS95S) You know  when I sit down and  when I rise up;
            You understand my thought from afar.

Our Father in Heaven

Your Name is Holy

Matt. 6:9 (NAS95S) ¶ “Pray, then, in this way:
            ‘Our Father who is in heaven,
            Hallowed be Your name.

Lev. 22:2 (NAS95S) “…My holy name; I am the LORD.

Lev. 11:44 (NAS95S) ‘For I am the LORD your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy. And you shall not make yourselves unclean with any of the swarming things that swarm on the earth.

Pray to God and be dedicated and consecrated to God.

Deut. 26:15 (NAS95S) ‘Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel,

Your Kingdom Come. Your Will Be Done, on Earth as It Is in Heaven.

            Mighty in strength, who perform His word,
            Obeying the voice of His word!

            You who serve Him, doing His will.

Psa. 143:10 (NAS95S) ¶ Teach me to do Your will,
            For You are my God;
            Let Your good Spirit lead me on level  ground.

Ex. 3:11 (NAS95S) But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”
Ex. 3:12 (NAS95S) And He said, “CertainlyI will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall  worship God at this mountain.”

Ex. 20:2 (NAS95S) ¶ “I am the LORD your God, [Yahweh Elohim] who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
Ex. 20:3 (NAS95S) ¶ “You shall have no othergods before Me.

The verse says LORD God, which is repeated almost five hundred times.

Give Us Each Day Our  Daily Bread

Luke 11:3 (NAS95S) ‘Give us each day our  daily bread.

God created the heavens and the earth without which there would be no food for people or anything else. We show that we need Our Father in heaven and Creator of the heavens and the earth, and we worship him accordingly.

Forgive Us Our Debts

Debts refer to what people owe us, have taken from us: culprits(1), debtors(1), indebted(1), owed(1), under obligation. God tells us to forgive the thieves who have stolen from us. When we do He will forgive whatever we owe Him.

Even when the sinner and thief are forgiven, they must repent of their evil to receive forgiveness and the rewards of righteousness. God flooded the Earth on the evil ones and smashed Egypt for their evil.

1Kings 8:33 (NAS95S) ¶ “When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy, because they have sinned against You, if they turn to You again and confess Your name and pray and make supplication to You in this house,
1Kings 8:34 (NAS95S) then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.

Ex. 34:7 (NAS95S) whokeeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sins.

Jesus died for the sins of all mankind.

Rom. 5:8 (NAS95S) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom. 5:9 (NAS95S) Much more then, having now been justified  by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Rom. 5:10 (NAS95S) For if while we wereenemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved  by His life.

Lead us not into Temptation

Matt. 6:13 (NAS95S) ‘And do not lead us into temptation,

Ex. 20:7 (NAS95S) ¶ “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not  leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

Gen. 22:1 (NAS95S) ¶ Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham,

Ex. 34:7 (NAS95S) who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”

But  Deliver us from  Evil and the Evil One

Ex. 20:2 (NAS95S) ¶ “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of  slavery.

Ex. 20:3 (NAS95S) ¶ “ You shall have no other gods before Me.

Ex. 20:5 (NAS95S) “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Ex. 20:6 (NAS95S) but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

            Whose sin is covered!

            That You may befeared.

Gen. 35:2 (NAS95S) So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods which are among you, and purify yourselves and change your garments;

Ex. 20:8 (NAS95S) ¶ “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Ex. 20:9 (NAS95S) “Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
Ex. 20:10 (NAS95S) but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the LORD your God; in it  you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who  stays with you.
Ex. 20:11 (NAS95S) “For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

All Evil was forgiven by Jesus’ death and resurrection. All a person must do to be saved from death is accept Jesus and repent of his former ways.
