The latest biblical scholarship has to do with what they see is major inconsistencies in the Bible; contrasting these with a world filled with suffering and death, some become convinced either God does not exist nor the loving God they were taught about either. Why have they refused to see the real God, loving and kind? They miss the point of the cause of suffering and death.

Looking at the world, scientists see a Big Bang creation and an evolving universe. They, as we learned in the New York Theological Seminary, plan to refute the Bible and the existence of God.

These are the latest incarnations of Satan’s attack against God, well, against those made in His Image.

Let us look at the furor they present.

People complain that God lets bad things happen to innocent children and others. Why does He not intervene for the little ones?

They tell us wars, famines, natural disasters, treacherous governments, criminals kill innocents and children. Why do these people have to suffer and die? It’s not fair, right or just, they say.

Let us look at how some these innocent babies died.

China killed millions and millions of Chinese: men, women and children. This Chinese government killed more people than any nation in history, their own people. Would these have God take over the Chinese Government, and every other government in the world, to keep them from the slaughter? The Chinese and all other nations would fight against God in every way, as they always have and will at the end time. In the meantime, people choose to live in misery and suffering, even effecting their children, rather than submit to God.

In the same way other countries commit immense crimes against their own. Russia killed millions of its own people under Communism. They rank up there with Hitler and Japan during WWII. All of these hate God. Idi Amin enslaved and killed millions of his people. In another era, Rome killed millions of Romans either by putting them in armies, gladiatorial games or outright.

People kill their own potential babies as abortions kill millions and millions of future people. Iatrogenic deaths abound up to a million per country (estimated), the US admits to a quarter of a million just under heart disease and cancer. Would these people keep the life in the womb? Would the ill give up their idolatries to let God heal them by various ways?

If genetic, how does God stop heart disease for people who are not built to live forever? If caused by diet and exercise or lack thereof, should God force people to live healthily? Besides who determines how long the body should last?

If He forces people to abide by His Way, are they any more than animals programmed by God? Thus, people would never have the opportunity to live as ones made in His Image.

Those religious scholars find fault with God’s causing innocents suffering and death. They cite the first-born Egyptians, many of whom were children, who died at the hand of the angel of death because they did not put the blood of a lamb around the lintels of their doors. The Egyptians actually killed their own babies because they refused to heed God. Here God gave them a chance, which they refused to take. They are responsible for their children’s deaths, not God.

Why did God allow these wars and death? How are their genocides and murders God’s fault? How would you want to stop it?

Why let innocent babies and little children suffer and die? Did God kill them? In wars, e.g., an almost total majority of the people of a country support what the country does, or else they can usually leave; but not always possible. The thing about a majority in a group of people or children is the minority generally concurs with the majority; it’s part of group dynamics. Class elections prove that the minority will agree to the winner or “law,” agreed to after the vote. We do not know why.

During WWI and WWII, the Allies bombed civilian neighborhoods without compunction because the whole country was at war, not just the army and the government. Today that understanding of group dynamics is ignored to protect the “innocents” who are not in uniform, but the “innocents” still do everything to support the war effort: make weapons, build warships and planes, grow and distribute food for the uniforms and all other activities keeping the country viable for the fight. But, what about the children? The parents know that their children could be killed because of what they are doing, and they still do it anyway; the parents will blame the enemy if their babies are injured or killed, so the sympathy engendered in the enemy will hold back in their effort, but its really parents’ fault, for its their activities that put them at risk.

Why did God create a planet containing such fury as volcanoes, hurricanes and tsunamis? In the beginning the earth was peaceful. Maybe its fury is against the furious.

Why do the “innocents” have to suffer and die when the volcano erupts out of nowhere? If these were obedient to God’s Laws and Commandments, would not God warn them as He has so many times in the past? Anything could happen to cause suffering and death: an accident, contracting a contagious disease. Why should there be contagious diseases? There are laws to protect against diseases and contagion in the Bible. If God is not the parents’ healer as seen in God’s Word, how can the children be saved? Since life can end abruptly any time and any place, people must live righteously all the time and not think they are immortal, acting in dangerous ways, and can get around to being good later.

Adam and all mankind, save a few, gave their allegiance to Satan and the demons. They rejected God from their lives, completely and utterly. They choose to be on their own and accept the consequence of their action of worshipping Satan. They refused to have any part of God in their existence no matter what the consequences.

What authority does God have to interfere in these nations’ sovereignty; people rejected Him and His authority. He cannot force His authority on them without making them anything, as noted above, more than animals who have no freedom, but are programmed from birth.

Adam was warned, you shall surely die, with all the suffering preceding death, if he disobeyed. People brought suffering to their babies and children by leading evil lives, disobeying the commandments.

Joshua killed thousands, including innocents and children, in Jericho because they would not cede to God’s army. However, he first encircled the city and gave them a chance to surrender to God’s Way.

The great flood killed children, who knew no better. The adults were evil lawbreakers, murders, and the like who deserved death. They would not walk with God like Noah to protect themselves or their children from the flood.

The Earth was held victim to disasters because of Adam.

Hos. 4:2 There is swearing, deception, murder, stealing and adultery.
They employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed.
Hos. 4:3 Therefore the land mourns,
And everyone who lives in it languishes
Along with the beasts of the field and the birds of the sky,
And also the fish of the sea disappear.

As noted above, tsunamis have killed innocents and children over thousands of years. So have volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, blizzards and tsunamis.

God could have protected people against these disasters, they say. However, He did, Keep the Commandments. Look at the Mormons in Utah who tithed and were rescued from a destructive, to their crops, attack by locusts when sea birds from the Pacific, far from Utah, came and ate the locusts.

Even God’s believers suffer and die at the hands of the enemy: they knew they could be martyred to spread the word. God tells us that suffering is part of the experience people need to grow in righteousness. Examples abound.

God provided everything for life: from food, clothing, shelter, transportation to location, natural resources, topography, climate in the creation.

First why does God allow and even at times kill innocent babies and little children who have never sinned. Some say all people are born evil, as a verse in David says.

Psa. 51:5 ¶ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.

5271. r…woÎn naur [655b]; from the same as 5288; youth, early life:—youth(47).

A strange verse follows. David’s evil redounds on his people. Why? Perhaps the evil that a person does, does not only hurt or kill him but also those under his authority. Thus, when a parent sins, the baby or child may pay the same penalty the parent must pay. Evil deeds do not exist in a vacuum, obviously. The thief already hurt the victim, also, worse, the murderer. The consequences of evil are widespread.

Furthermore, the blessings of doing good permeate those around him.

2Sam. 24:17 Then David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who was striking down the people, and said, “Behold, it is I who have sinned, and it is I who have done wrong; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let Your hand be against me and against my father’s house.”

What people do has consequences. David was the ruler of his country and if he went astray, his people suffered from his lapse. On the other hand, people who keep God’s Way and Walk with Him save others. Noah saved his family, who trusted him and God by entering the ark (if not helped building it). Their faith saved them. Moses kept God’s Way and Walked with Him and thus was able to save a nation descended from Abraham to lead and preserve God’s Word. Eventually, Moses and Israel had a descendant called Jesus, who saved the entire race of humans, if and when they would believe.

Some scholars find Biblical inconsistencies and say God who should keep His Word inviolate did not write it. God gave His Word to people to keep and spread it around. God knew that people would make mistakes in copying, leaving out words and misspelling words that change its meaning; so He gave us redundancy and repeated vital ideas over and over. His Scriptures are Sacred because He accounted for human error and corruption in the vast power of the numerous weighty verses. He knew these errors and corruptions might mislead some people because they would use them to facilitate an attack against God’s Word and Way. He wanted people who would have the mind that would know Him and not be mislead by the machinations of the angel of light, Satan. Those being lead by another way, Satan’s, would have more ammunition to enforce its idolatries by using mistakes, corruptions and things out of context, thereby. Whether people choose idolatry (Satan worship) or atheistic materialism (nature worship), Satan considers it a gain because they do recognize the Creator, True to His Word.

God wants people to struggle mightily to learn His Sacred Scriptures and He will help the sincere. He wants them to prove trinity is idolatry. He wants them to prove that He adopted the human Jesus as His son, and Jesus is not some Tammuz, Hercules or Perseus, each of whom was begotten by a chief pagan deity. He wants people to prove Christmas, New Years, Sunday worship and Easter are founded deeply rooted in paganism, Satan worship.

Satan cannot destroy God, but it would love to try to take away His greatest Creation, those made in His Image.

For the intellectual and scientist, it will give them reasons, originating from ancient scholars (Plato, e.g.) for God’s non-existence. For the emotional, it gives them Christmas and New Years revelries. For the religiously oriented, many religions will give them pseudo-solace. For the sports oriented, well, they have their sports heroes either at the Roman Coliseum or the one over here.

Parents iniquity lasts four generation. Why? It takes up to four generations to get free of evil language within, which passes on up to the next four generations, apparently. We see immigrants to a new country taking at least two to four generations to become inculcated to the new culture and language no matter how hard they try to be true to the land they left.

Ex. 20:5 “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Ex. 20:6 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Ex. 34:7 who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting [charging] the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”
Deut. 5:9 ‘You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Deut. 5:10 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Psa. 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.

James could not put it more powerfully. If you want to do the world’s things, their holidays and way of thinking, that makes you an opponent of God, no matter how you rationalize it or make excuses that you are not really following the world’s way, just happen to be doing the same thing.

James 4:4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Rom. 8:7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,

Love of the world is a love of Satan for it loves itself beyond what a human can imagine. John elucidates.

1John 2:15 ¶ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
1John 2:17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

Peter gives a powerful indictment of those addicted to evil. These would rather suffer and die than accede to God. Unfortunately, the natives of Earth, as said above, refuse to give themselves completely to God’s Way and Walk with Him. Almost all reserve a small section of their minds to the ways of Satan. Until a person repents from all evil, without exception, he cannot be a believer because he refuses to take the final step and give up all idolatry.

2Pet. 2:12 But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed,
2Pet. 2:13 suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you,
2Pet. 2:14 having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children;
2Pet. 2:15 forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

Here Titus explains any tiny amount of evil lurking in the hearts of people prevents their minds from becoming pure and undefiled.

Titus 1:15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

The next verse patently publicizes the promoters of the perniciousness of their palpable passions.

2Tim. 3:2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
2Tim. 3:3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
2Tim. 3:4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
2Tim. 3:5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

The warning continues in Ephesians: be fully cleanse and let no trace of idolatry be found in the believers mind. The few believers who revert to idolatry purposefully will lose their salvation.

Eph. 4:17 ¶ So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Eph. 4:18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
Eph. 4:19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.

How does God help these degenerates to change by saving them from the fruits of their thinking and acting, their suffering and death?  God will not empower bad behavior by supporting those who insist upon doing wrong.

God gave people the authority to cultivate; so also over children. Most importantly, He gave them a choice to follow His Word and Way or not. He will not force them because their decision must come from the heart, not by force or mind control. You can force a prisoner to follow orders, but only as he remains in jail.

Remember there are constraints put upon all governments because of Noah’s covenant with God. Evil rulers will always receive justice for breaking this covenant. More on this in another article.

After the six millennia of Satan’s rule and just before the thousand year Sabbath, God will dispatch the one man proven capable and righteous to rule the people of Earth, his adopted Son, Jesus. Later, at a second resurrection God will raise all who have suffered and died and give them a second chance to choose. Those who will follow God’s Word and Way with all its adversities will gain eternal life; the others will die.
