God Has Wisdom

Job 12:13 "To God belongs wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.
Job 39:26 "Does the hawk take flight by your wisdom and spread his wings toward the south?

Psa 104:24 = How many are your works, O LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
Psa 104:25 There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number-- living things both large and small.

Pro 3:19 = By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
Pro 3:20 = by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

Jer 51:15 = "He made the earth by his power; he founded [in the beginning] the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
Jer 51:16 = When He thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

Pro 9:1 = Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its seven pillars.

1Co 2:6 = We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
1Co 2:7 = No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
1Co 2:8 = None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1Co 2:9 = However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--

Wisdom Comes from God

Job 28:12 = "But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?
Job 28:13 = Man does not comprehend its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living.
Job 28:14 = The deep says, 'It is not in me'; the sea says, 'It is not with me.'
Job 28:15 = It cannot be bought with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed in silver.
Job 28:16 It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir, with precious onyx or sapphires.
Job 28:17 Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it, nor can it be had for jewels of gold.
Job 28:18 Coral and jasper are not worthy of mention; the price of wisdom is beyond rubies.
Job 28:19 The topaz of Cush cannot compare with it; it cannot be bought with pure gold.
Job 28:20 "Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell?
Job 28:21 It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds of the air.
Job 28:22 Destruction and Death say, 'Only a rumor of it has reached our ears.'
Job 28:23 = God understands the way to it and He alone knows where it dwells,
Job 28:24 = for He views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.

Pro 2:6 = For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Pro 2:7 = He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
Pro 2:8 = for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
Pro 2:10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Pro 2:11 = Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.
Pro 2:12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,
Pro 2:13 = who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways,
Pro 2:14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
Pro 2:15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.

1Co 1:24 = but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1Co 1:25 = For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

Eph 3:10 = His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
Eph 3:11 according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Eph 3:12 In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Desirable

Pro 2:1 My son, if you accept My words and store up My commands within you,
Pro 2:2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding,
Pro 2:3 and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,
Pro 2:4 = and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
Pro 2:5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

Pro 8:10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold,
Pro 8:11 = for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Pro 8:12 "I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.

Pro 19:8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers.

Pro 23:23 = Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding.

Pro 24:14 Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Pray for Wisdom

Col 1:9 = For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Col 1:10 = And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
Col 1:11 = being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully
Col 1:12 = giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.

Jam 1:5 = If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Jam 1:6 = But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Jam 1:7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;
Jam 1:8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Eph 1:17 = I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

Fear of the Lord

Job 28:25 = When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters,
Job 28:26 = when he made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm,
Job 28:27 then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it.
Job 28:28 = And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord-- that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.'"

Psa 111:10 = The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Isa 33:6 = He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.

Mic 6:9 Listen! The LORD is calling to the city-- and to fear your name is wisdom-- "Heed the rod and the One who appointed it.

Comes from Humility and Common Sense

Pro 11:2 = When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Pro 13:10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

Pro 14:8 = The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.

Pro 19:11 = A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

Pro 21:11 When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; when a wise man is instructed, he gets knowledge.

Pro 23:4 = Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.
Pro 23:5 Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

Jer 9:23 = This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches,
Jer 9:24 = but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.

Eze 28:17 = Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.
Eze 28:18 = By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching.

Jam 3:13 = Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

Jam 3:14 = But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
Jam 3:15 = Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.
Jam 3:16 = For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
Jam 3:17 = But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Jam 3:18 = Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

Commandments Make Wise

Deu 4:5 See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it.
Deu 4:6 = Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."

Psa 37:30 The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.
Psa 37:31 The law of his God is in his heart; his feet do not slip.

Pro 1:20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares;

Spirit of Wisdom

Psa 104:30 = When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.

Deu 34:9 = Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the LORD had commanded Moses.

Job 32:7 = I thought, 'Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.'
Job 32:8 = But it is the spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.
Job 32:9 = It is not only the old who are wise, not only the aged who understand what is right.

1Co 2:10 = but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
1Co 2:11 = For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
1Co 2:12 = We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
1Co 2:13 = This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
1Co 2:14 = The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1Co 12:8 = To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
1Co 12:9 = to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
1Co 12:10 = to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
1Co 12:11 = All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

Solomon Prayed for Wisdom and Got Wealth and More

2Ch 1:10 = Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?"
2Ch 1:11 = God said to Solomon, "Since this is your heart's desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king,
2Ch 1:12 = therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have."

1Ki 4:30 = Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the men of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.
1Ki 4:31 = He was wiser than any other man, including Ethan the Ezrahite--wiser than Heman, Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread to all the surrounding nations.
1Ki 4:32 = He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five.
1Ki 4:33 He described plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of walls. He also taught about animals and birds, reptiles and fish.

Wisdom from Silence

Job 13:5 = If only you would be altogether silent! For you, that would be wisdom.

Wisdom Gain by Age

Job 12:12 Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?

Jesus Has the Spirit of Wisdom

Isa 11:2 = The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD--
Isa 11:3 and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;
Isa 11:4 = but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
Isa 11:5 = Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

Luk 2:40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

Luk 2:52 = And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

1Co 1:23 = but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
1Co 1:24 = but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

1Co 1:30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-- that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

1Co 2:15 = The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
1Co 2:16 = "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Eph 1:7 = In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace
Eph 1:8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
Eph 1:9 = And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,
Eph 1:10 = to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment-- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

Col 2:2 = My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
Col 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Words of Wisdom

De.32:29
  If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be! 

Pr.6:6
  Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 

Luk 21:14 = But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
Luk 21:15 = For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

Col 3:16 = Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
Col 3:17 = And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Rev 7:12 = saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!"
