Communicating Word

John 1:1 (NAS95S) ¶  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Logos  word: to say, talk, spoken thoughts, (as embodying an idea), a statement, a speech

Psa. 33:6 (NAS95S) ¶ By the word of the LORD the heavens were made,
And by the breath of His mouth all their host.

In the beginning God created…God said…

Gen. 1:3 (NAS95S) Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

Gen. 1:20 (NAS95S) ¶ Then God said, “Let the waters  teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth  in the open  expanse of the heavens.”

Like God we are language

Gen. 1:26 (NAS95S) ¶ Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the  sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Communicating the Thoughts

How We Think: In the Language taught and/or learned or made up.

Limitation of Language: Eskimos. Word order (syntactical): subject, predicate, object, nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, participles, infinities, phrases and others. Inflected word endings indicate subject, predicate, object, nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, participles, infinities, phrases and others.

Translations, never exact and need redundancy and consistency.

Hebrew uses sounds groups (ab and ah to make ahab) for meanings by adding prefixes, infixes and suffixes to promote meaning.

Idiolect familyect … God’s Highest Language

Body Language

Verbal Language

Something special about speech: emotions, excitement, accents, emphasis, speed, loudness and more. These change the meaning of words and communication.

All we have is…

Written Language … until we speak it.
